 Are you finding it difficult to make arrangements for your pets when you have to travel without them? Sumner Veterinary Hospital has accommodations for over 190 dogs and 16 cats. We'll make sure your pet has a safe and pleasant experience while you're away so you won't have to worry. We encourage you to call and schedule a tour of our lodging facilities any time.
We provide a clean, safe place for your pets to stay. A veterinarian is on the premises seven days a week. Each kennel technician is trained to recognize the signs of pet illness and follow protocols to ensure medical care is provided. We will call your emergency contact number after completing an exam and diagnostics if any medical care is required.
You can rest assured that your dog will not be bored when he/she stays with us. Consider introducing your pup to our lodging facility by scheduling a single-night stay. This will allow you and your puppy to experience a brief separation before a longer trip is necessary. Including a trip to our Doggie Daycare Program is the perfect solution for socializing puppies and adult dogs. At the Doggie Daycare Program, our enthusiastic dog-loving staff will mix group play and training with a variety of other activities to meet your dog’s social, physical and mental needs. This program is a wonderful addition to your pets stay with us an you can also add grooming, training and aqua-therapy services.

Please Note: We feed only premium food to our lodging pets. If your pet is on a prescription diet or a special diet because of a health issue, please bring pre-measured ziploc bags containing single meals.

Vaccines and annual fecal tests are required before boarding your pet. Sumner Veterinary Hospital Exams are required for vaccines to be administered.

Standard care provides for healthy adult dogs and cats:
1. Water at all times, fresh bedding daily, music
2. Dogs taken out four to six times a day for elimination
3. Premium diets of solid dry and canned food are fed to the dogs and cats
Deluxe care provides for extra care and attention:
1. All services provided with standard lodging
2. Extra-soft padded bedding provided for geriatric dogs
3. Dogs playtime daily: you may elect either individual or group play. Cats playtime in play area with cat toys and climbing post.
4. Administration of medications if needed
Pampered care provides the ultimate lodging experience, plenty of activity and one-on-one attention:
1. All services provided with deluxe care.
2. Group play or individual personalized playtime twice-daily.
3. Kong toy stuffed with treats daily for dogs daily. Cats get catnip, cat toys and treats provided.
4. Brushing for cats.
Puppy care (for dogs under one year) provides plenty of activity and social interactions:
1. All services provided with deluxe care.
2. Playtime with other puppies twice daily.
3. Safe chew toys and treats provided throughout the day
